UC Davis Identifies Gene Causing High Uric Acid

A team of researchers at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine has identified the gene mutation that causes high levels of uric acid in dalmatians.  You can read about it at the Public Library of Science website . You can also go to the UC Davis website .  There is also more information here .

Nel Helps Patients at St. Louis Children's Hospital

Nel hard at work Nel, a therapy dalmatian handled by June Brennan-Mueller, makes visits to the St. Louis Children's hospital and snuggles with the kids.  "The children love her and she loves them. When we come into the hospital, it takes us a half-hour to get from the lobby to the elevator".  See the full article here .
